It has been a month since we launched Endless Summer back on the water and it has been a month of rain, wind, cold, and more rain. In fact, it has rained so much there has been a constant flood watch and small craft advisories in effect almost endlessly. Just about the time it looks like the stationary front was going to break, another wave of rain blanketed the area. It was so bad, we decided to fly home to Florida for a week until things improved. Finally, the stationary high pressure system moved offshore and clearer and warmer weather followed.
While the weather may have put a damper on things, it still felt good to be back in Maryland, seeing old friends, eating crab cakes, soft shells and Rockfish as well as visiting some of our old haunts. It gave me a chance to work on the boat, deal with a few minor issues, and properly re-stock supplies and parts. We also drove to Baltimore one night for a terrific Alan Jackson's "Honky Tonk Highway Tour" concert and went to Connecticut one weekend to enjoy our grandson's 9th birthday along with a Little League game. All in all, a great month.

This past week, our friends Gail and Keith Mackey stopped by on their boat Southern Style for a few days. They are on a year-long journey doing "The Great Loop" aboard a 57' Marlow motor yacht.

We had a great time together including some golf at Queenstown Harbor and a day in Annapolis watching the Blue Angels perform for the Navy Academy Commissioning Week. Our dear friends Wynn and Nancy Poole (who live on the Eastern Shore) joined us for the day on Endless Summer as we all were awed by the precision flying talent of these Top Gun airmen.

As the month comes to a close and the "flowers" of May finally blossom, we are now settled in to our home for the next few months and excited to enjoy the incredible Chesapeake Bay.
