I remember growing up in Maryland that late July and into August were always considered the "hazy, hot and humid" dog-days of summer. Seems nothing has changed over the years -- it still is!

Despite the very tropical-like weather the past month, we took full advantage of our time and location to enjoy the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay, and good times with family and friends.
But before we did any of that, we headed off on a one week Disney Cruise to the western Caribbean with our daughter, husband and two wonderful grandkids. Not only was it good to spend a few days at sea (on a very big boat), but the opportunity to rediscover the world through the eyes of children was a joy and treasured memory.

My younger brother Tom and sister-in-law Cindy came to visit us for a weekend aboard Endless Summer. We made a run to Rockhall on the eastern shore and despite some threatening weather had a great time together.

We had a nice lunch with Wynn and Nancy Poole one day and caught up on our families and activities. We also met Bob and Carolee Duckman for lunch at David Pub in Annapolis to get our crab soup and crab pretzel fix. And finally, Tony and Christine Schroth came over to the boat for the afternoon on perhaps the hottest day of the year -- thank goodness for air conditioning!

Perhaps the "big event" of the month was celebrating Rachel's 50th high school reunion in Bel Air Maryland. It was very well attended and since we both went to the same school, it was good fun getting caught up with old friends.

Looks like another great month on the water! It was nice to see those shots at Davis Pub which was one of our favorites during our brief time in Annapolis. But how dare you speak of this wax job without a follow-up picture of the shine? For shame
ReplyDeleteSee you down south!
It was so bright, the picture was blur. :)
