Charleston to Savannah

We really enjoy the stretch of waterway from Charleston South Carolina to Savannah Georgia. The vast majority of the route is untouched and undeveloped and accentuates the simply beauty of the "low country". Unfortunately, much of the area suffered damage from the recent Hurricane Matthew that racked the east coast from Florida to Virginia. We saw boats high aground, docks destroyed beyond recognition, and larges pieces of debris amassed along the shoreline and floating in the waterway. It was very sad to see, especially in the context of such natural beauty.

None the less, we had another great day on the water and enjoyed the serene and calm conditions arriving in Savannah at Isle of Hope Marina around 3pm. Tonight, it's a casual dinner on board with perhaps once of the best views you can ask for while at dock.
